A journey to meet Nun Zenshin-ni

Okuyama Kumedera Temple Site

The propagation of Buddhism, to which Zenshin-ni devoted herself, led to the construction of a great number of temples. Archeological excavations revealed that this temple once covered a vast area. The temple compound is believed to have adopted a similar layout to that used in Shitennoji, with the pagoda, main hall, and other buildings laid out in a straight line in the middle. Some argue that these ruins are those of Oharidadera, a temple founded by the Oharida clan (relatives of the Soga clan).
